Door Locks

Door Lock User Guide

This page contains instructions on how to manually program and operate your lock using the keypad on the lock. Remote operations can be selected below.

The Schlage Connect lock comes with a six-digit programming code and two user codes pre-installed. The user codes can be programmed to be from four to eight digits long but they must all be the same length for your lock.

The programming code is used for most functions. The code can easily be changed to one that is easy for you to remember such as a birthday 01 15 60. Although adding or deleting user codes can be done at the lock, you may find it simpler to use the remote app on your phone using SmartThings.

When programming the lock, open the door and extend the deadbolt.

What would you like to do?

Add or delete user codes

Changing the programming code

Changing the User code length

Select from four-digit codes up to eight-digit user codes. Keep in mind though, that changing the user code length will also erase all current user codes.

How to delete all user codes

Before continuing, make sure that you have your lock’s default access codes available!

How to change the batteries

Use caution when disconnecting the small wire to the battery holder. Do not use a metal screwdriver. Only use new high quality ‘Alkaline’ batteries. Lithium or rechargeable batteries will give false remaining power indications and may fail without warning!

How to set vacation mode

To undo vacation mode, just enter the programming code again

Alarm modes

Several different alarm modes are available. I would suggest not using this feature due to renters activating it by mistake.

Please refer to your owners manual for more information.

The Three Different Alarm Settings

  • Activity: Two short beeps whenever the door opens, regardless if the door is locked or unlocked.
  • Tamper: 15-second alarm shrill whenever the lock detects tampering (lock picking, etc.)
  • Forced Entry: 3-minute alarm shrill whenever the lock detects forced entry (kicking, hitting, etc.)
